Holy Synod

The Holy Synod is the highest ecclesiastical governing body for the autocephalous Orthodox churches.
The President of the Holy Synod is the respective Archbishop of Athens. The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece consists of all the bishops who are regular members, to whom the superior is accountable.
The term “Holy Synod” or “Perpetual Holy Synod” is used as the official name for the body itself, while the term “synodal” often refers to a specific meeting of that body.
